People who changed the world did not want to change the world.
They simply did what they liked to do and became better and better in what they did. They made choices not based on what consequences they would create, but because they were possessed of the purpose that the Choice embodied. They changed the world not because they made big announcements or proclamations but because they worked passionately at attaining the purpose of their engagement. They simply did not want anything to distract them from what they were engaged with. And, it is not just the few who became famous who changed the world. Millions of unknown, unheralded and simple people working in the fields, factories, offices, homes have done small things that gave us the world we live in today.
But, they had something in common – their Mind. A mind that had evolved with habits of thinking and action that made them look for excellence and not being better. A mind that was not controlled by the expectations from all around them. That had this incorrigible habit for looking for something different. A different vision, a different driver in their psyche that made them hook onto the unexpected, the uncharted within their little worlds or lives.
Leadership minds change the world they live in. They are not motivated by what they make out of their engagement. Instead they are impassioned by the engagement itself. Leaders lead because of the purpose they are engaged in not because they will become famous or heroes. They are not fulfilling any expectations but live in the world beyond expectations.
